India’s left-arm spinner Manav Suthar put the final nail in the coffin to complete his maiden 10-wicket haul as the visitors secured a 165-run victory in the first Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka. The contest concluded on Day 5 (Wednesday, August 19) at the Galle International Stadium.
The final wicket fell on the fourth ball of the 78th over of Sri Lanka’s second innings. Suthar bowled a quicker delivery that skidded off the deck, prompting Keshara Nuwantha to stay back and defend. However, he managed only a faint inside edge, which went on to rattle the stumps. The right-hander departed for 20 off 69 balls as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 206 in 77.4 overs while chasing 372.
