Serena Williams’ coach, Rennae Stubbs, recently lashed out at a post that made a homophobic statement that cited the Bible as a reason. The former World No. 1 wrote an angry caption while reposting the post on her social media.
The post stated that if a Christian is invited to a homosexual wedding, he must not attend the ceremony since it would be encouraging a sin as per the Holy Bible.
Thanks for the submission!
“If your friend invites you to a gay wedding, do you know what you should say as a Christian?” the post said.
“I’m a Christian, and I believe that homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10), and I believe God designed marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24), so I’m going to politely decline. Thank you,” the post concluded.

Stubbs was furious with the content of the post. She defended the LGBTQ+ community with a fiery comeback.
“Girl, no one is inviting you to a gay wedding. You’re NOT cool enough,” Rennae Stubbs wrote.
The former World No. 1 came out as a lesbian during a media interview in 2006. Since then, she has spoken openly about her sexuality, including her past relationship with her doubles partner, Lisa Raymond. She openly advocates for LGBTQ+ rights and equality in sports.

In a blockbuster turn of events, Carlos Alcaraz‘s highly anticipated comeback after a long injury stint will be even more worthwhile as he will be joining the tennis icon Serena Williams for the mixed doubles category at the US Open. The 44-year-old is also a 6-time US Open winner, while Alcaraz is the defending men’s singles champion. The current World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will be pairing with Novak Djokovic, while the World No. 3 Jessica Pegula will team up with fellow American Taylor Fritz for the US Open mixed doubles.
The 23x Grand Slam winner, Serena Williams, last won the mixed doubles at the US Open, alongside Max Mirnyi, in 1998. It will be Williams’ first appearance at the Flushing Meadows since 2022.
