Rashod Bateman made news headlines on Friday when he was revealed to have been arrested in Walton County, Georgia over two months ago for domestic violence. Now, the inciting incident has emerged.
On Monday, celebrity website TMZ was granted access to a police report detailing the Baltimore Ravens wide receiver’s actions on June 3. According to it, the situation began when he and his girlfriend Marissa Crumley had an argument about her past at around 3:30 a.m., during which he called her a “liar”.

Suddenly, he shoved her into a corner, which left contusions on her face. He then demanded that she pack up and leave the house. She obliged, bringing the couple’s daughter with her, only for him to allegedly threaten to banish her dog from the house through repeated texts and calls because he had not been able to bid the child farewell.

The two agreed to meet, and Bateman arrived in a black SUV. He then attempted to puncture the rear tire of Crumley’s Mercedes with a screwdriver, before striking its windshield and driver’s window. The attack sent glass shards into Crumley’s face, for which she and her daughter were hospitalized.

Bateman turned himself in shortly after the incident and was given a no-contact order, which was waived at his request. His attorney Jordan Siev then issued this statement:
“It is unfortunate that a personal family situation has been taken completely out of context for sensational reasons. We will let the court process play out and the facts will come out at that time.”
The Ravens, meanwhile, acknowledged that they had informed the league office of the incident and would provide no further comment.

For Jamison Hensley, the consequences of Rashod Bateman‘s actions could be significant, especially as he enters a contract year. The ESPN reporter wrote in a roster prediction two days after the revelation of the domestic violence incident:
“Bateman could face a suspension under the personal conduct policy after being arrested on family violence charges, which would open up a roster spot.
“(Zay) Flowers and (Ja’Kobi) Lane have been the Ravens’ top receivers in training camp. (Elijah) Sarratt and (Devontez) Walker, a pair of fourth-round picks, are considered safe. (LaJohntay) Wester has secured the final receiver spot because he’s the top punt returner and has received increased reps on offense this summer.”
The Ravens’ 2026 season begins at the Indianapolis Colts on September 13. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
