NFL, Nike Unveil New “Rivalries” Uniforms For AFC South, NFC North

The NFL and Nike officially revealed new community-inspired alternate uniforms on Tuesday morning for the eight teams in the AFC South and NFC North, including the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.

The “Rivalries” uniforms – which bring to mind MLB’s City Connect and the NBA’s City Edition programs – will be worn during a home game against a divisional opponent and will remain in the team’s rotation for three seasons, which would conceivably allow them to be worn against a different opponent each year.

The program, which resulted in Fanatic’s highest-selling product launch ever when the AFC East and NFC West unveiled their uniforms last season, will expand to the AFC West and NFC East in 2027 and the AFC North and NFC South in 2028, marking the first league-wide uniform promotion since Color Rush designs debuted in 2015.

This year’s matchups feature the Texans at Colts on Sept. 27, Bears at Packers on Oct. 11, Colts at Jaguars and Vikings at Lions on Nov. 1, Jaguars at Titans on Nov. 15, Colts at Texans on Nov. 19, Lions at Vikings on Dec. 20 and Packers at Bears on Christmas Day. With that said, let’s take a look at the new designs for each team.

*Note: Official merchandise won’t be available until Sept. 1.

AFC South

Houston Texans

Nov. 19 vs Indianapolis Colts, 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime

The Texans’ all-white uniforms feature their secondary “H” logo on the helmets, metallic chrome details inspired by the city’s custom car scene, a graffiti-style number font pulled from the “Be Something” bridge and an “H-Town Blue” street tile pattern incorporated into the stripes, nameplate and helmet bumpers.

Indianapolis Colts

Sept. 27 vs Texans, 1 p.m. ET on CBS

The Colts’ anvil-inspired (or dark anthracite) uniforms integrate the grommets from their iconic horseshoe logo – which is integrated into the design of their jerseys for the first time – within the enlarged UCLA stripes on the shoulders and introduce new metallic blue helmets. The numbers and stripes also have a reflective finish to match the helmets.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Nov. 1 vs Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m. ET on CBS

The Jaguars’ uniforms feature the first teal helmets in franchise history, “sun-washed” alabaster jerseys with a cursive “Jaguars” wordmark, sublimated spots in the custom number font and matching black pants with throwback-inspired stripes down the sides. Names of neighborhoods in Jacksonville are also hidden among the spots.

Tennessee Titans

Nov. 15 vs Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m. ET on FOX

Confirming our previous report, the Titans’ navy blue “Rivalries” uniforms are inspired by Nashville’s status as “Music City” with a number font that mimics the neon lights on Broadway Street and features their guitar string stripes vibrating on the jerseys, pants and new light blue helmet.

NFC North

Chicago Bears

Dec. 25 vs Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m. ET on Netflix

The Bears’ uniforms are inspired by their “Monsters of the Midway” throwbacks, which were worn from 2010-18, but feature three vertical stripes on the sleeves and are paired with their orange alternate helmets – which have three stars from the Chicago flag on the back bumper – and new orange pants for a modern take on the design.

Detroit Lions

Nov. 1 vs Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m. ET on FOX

The Lions’ concrete gray uniforms feature subtle carbon fiber print in the racing-style numbers as a nod to the city’s automotive heritage, while the shoulder and pants stripes are pulled from the eye of their logo. The carbon fiber details also appear on the decals of their Honolulu blue alternate helmets.

Green Bay Packers

Oct. 11 vs Chicago Bears, 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX

The Packers’ desaturated green jerseys celebrate their unique community ownership, with stock certificate-inspired details woven into the stripes and number font, which is inspired by the intricate lettering on paper currency. The alabaster helmet, numbers, stripes and pants also mimic the aged certificates.

Minnesota Vikings

Dec. 20 vs Detroit Lions, 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC

The Vikings’ deep purple uniforms feature metallic gold and ivory accents, a new wordmark and number font inspired by rune carvings, Nordic-inspired stripes on the helmets, sleeves and down the sides of the pants that come to a point to symbolize a sword and two-tone horns on the helmets.
