The Los Angeles Rams traded for Myles Garrett in a blockbuster move this offseason. Garrett’s arrival in LA has sparked Rams icon Aaron Donald’s potential return to the NFL.
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff shared his thoughts about potentially playing against the three-time Defensive Player of the Year again. Goff discussed Donald’s impact on the Rams if he comes out of retirement for the 2026 season.

Donald, one of the most decorated defensive tackles in the league, has not played in the NFL since 2023 and is reportedly undecided about his return with the Rams’ season opener around two weeks away.

Aaron Donald‘s potential partnership with Myles Garrett could be bad news for opposition quarterbacks. Amid Donald’s uncertain return, Rams coach Sean McVay is preparing a 53-player roster with him and one without him.
“If he decides he wants to be able to do it, then the next conversations are: What is your ramp-up?” McVay said. “What does it look like to approach whenever that would be the first time that we think we make the most sense for him to impact and make a positive change with us?”
McVay said that the Rams have had a “lot of fluidity and flexibility” and they are prepared for any decision from Donald.
