“Embarrassing crybaby” – WNBA Fans Clown Angel Reese For Throwing Fit At Referee Following Easy Miss

WNBA fans are aware that Angel Reese is not the league’s top offensive player. Although the Atlanta Dream star is averaging 16.1 points this season, she hasn’t been the most efficient. Reese is shooting 43.7% from the field and 18.0% from beyond the arc.

On Friday, Reese went viral online after she embarrassingly missed a layup against the Portland Fire. The first quarter was about to end, and Jordin Canada tried to beat the buzzer with a layup. Sadly, the guard missed.

Reese grabbed the offensive rebound, giving the Dream another chance to beat the buzzer. However, her attempt entirely missed the rim and only hit the backboard as time expired. She complained to the referees that Megan DiLeo had contacted her and vigorously defended her in the possession.

It did not go well for the Dream star online as WNBA fans mocked Angel Reese for her shot attempt.

“Embarrassing crybaby,” a fan said.

“Didn’t even hit the rim,” another fan commented.

“Priceless,” one fan said.

More fans clowned the former LSU star.

“we have to do something about this before it spreads…” someone commented.

@HouseLowlights we have to do something about this before it spreads…

“The greatest rebounder ever,” a comment read.

“Tragic,” one fan commented.

Fortunately for Reese, she found her rhythm in the first half. She finished the first and second quarters with nine points and nine rebounds. However, the Dream trailed the Fire, 52-38, at halftime.

Angel Reese Receives Praise From WNBA Veteran Sydney Colson

Angel Reese has always been criticized for her offensive struggles. Fans make fun of the Dream star for often missing shots near the basket, which other stars could easily make.

However, she hasn’t let the outside noise affect her. Reese continues to play her brand of basketball, dominating the glass for her team. The Dream star knows that she isn’t the best scorer, but rebounding is where she excels. This season, she leads the WNBA in rebounds per game, averaging 12.4.

On Thursday’s episode of “Yahoo! Sports Daily,” veteran WNBA player Sydney Colson praised Reese. She even compared the three-time All-Star to NBA legend Dennis Rodman.

“We see the comparisons a lot of times,” Colson said about Reese. “I don’t know who to say for the W, but they say Dennis Rodman for the NBA a lot of the time, and you obviously know about the games where Dennis Rodman had zero points and almost 20 rebounds or something like that.”

“so, I think she’s just one of those players who has a knack for rebounding, just like other people have skills for other things. … She’s just tenacious, and you just gotta box her out before the shot is even up.”

Angel Reese may not dominate the WNBA with her points, but she has done well in making a name for herself with her rebounding.
