• PSG have gotten off to an uncharacteristically slow start in their Ligue 1 campaign. They were held to a 2-2 draw by Rennes on the opening weekend, and this past weekend they needed a pair of injury-time goals to rescue a 2-2 draw against Lille.

• PSG were involved in one of the biggest transfer deals of the recent window, as they sold winger Bradley Barcola to Liverpool for a fee of around €125m right before deadline day. In terms of attacking incomings, Luis Enrique has added Maghnes Akliouche, Ferran Torres and Mika Godts to his ranks.
• Monaco, meanwhile, found themselves embroiled in controversy on deadline day when deals to send Lamine Camara and Folarin Balogun to Chelsea and Everton respectively fell apart late in the day. While this may not have helped them financially, of course, it does leave them with a stronger squad to choose from this season.
