Will Ospreay Breaks Silence After Match Against Jon Moxley Is Made Official

AEW World Champion Will Ospreay has finally broken his silence after his first title defense was confirmed against Jon Moxley.

Will Ospreay reached the holy grail in AEW after defeating Kenny Omega in the main event of All In to win the AEW World Championship. The Aerial Assassin opened this week’s Dynamite to revel in his victory, but toward the end, he was interrupted by the Demand and the Dogs, with Ricochet and Gabe Kidd from their respective groups demanding a title shot. The segment led to a major 10-man tag match in the main event, with the Dogs and Demand taking on Ospreay, The United Empire, and Andrade.

The match was chaotic and ended when Ospreay hit Hidden Blade on Connors for the win. But the Heels continued their attack on Ospreay and Co. until the Death Riders’ music hit. At one point, Mox and the reigning World Champion were alone in the ring, but instead of attacking, the Death Riders’ leader handed Ospreay his belt. The duo then turned to the Titantron, which revealed a match graphic confirming the Brit’s first defense of his AEW World Title against Moxley at All Out. Later on X, Ospreay broke his silence by resharing the match details.

“Saturday 26th September. NOW Arena, Chicago. Moxley Vs Ospreay. AEW World Championship,” Ospreay wrote.

Will Ospreay wants to “bring United Empire” to AEW

Will Ospreay’s opening address on last night’s Dynamite featured the Aerial Assassin thanking his New Japan stablemates, Henare, Francesco Akira, and Callum Newman, a.k.a. the United Empire. However, the Brit confessed that he misses them in AEW and would like to form a new version of the group in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

“Big shoutout to my boys, Henare, Francesco Akira and Callum Newman. The United Empire. Those boys were with me in Japan. They were the sole reason why I succeeded. Every time I got down, the boys picked me back up. There was no one else I wanted in my corner that night except my boys. And it reminded me of all the training I used to do and that’s something I have been missing since I came to AEW. So they have United Empire in Japan and that’s fine. I would like to create some opportunities here in [All Elite Wrestling]. So I’m going to start looking and I’m going to bring United Empire to AEW,” he said.

Time will reveal who the members of Ospreay’s All Elite Wrestling version of the United Empire will be.
