Clancy copycat?
As previously reported, a 2-year-old child was found unresponsive in the basement of a Frankfort, Illinois, home on Tuesday. The child was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The mother, Corie Walsh, 38, was charged with murder on Friday.
A 17-year-old called 911, and when police arrived at the home, the child’s mother was attempting self-harm.
It is unclear how the child died.
The incident was being investigated as a homicide, and on Friday, police announced that Corie Walsh was charged with murder and is in custody being held for medical treatment.
Walsh will be transferred to Will County Jail later.
Three other children in the home were found unharmed.

The mother of a 2-year-old who died in a domestic homicide incident earlier this week has been charged with his murder, Frankfort police said Friday.
Corie A. Walsh, 38, was charged in the incident, police said.
Just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Frankfort police responded to the 22700-block of Brook Stone Court for a report of an unresponsive child.
A 2-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, police said.
Walsh was also taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police previously said the child’s mother was found attempting to hurt herself.
Three other children were also at the home unharmed, police said.
