Federal officials on Monday said all five people killed after an Amazon plane overran a runway in Miami were on the ground in a van.
Five people died, and five people were injured after an Amazon Boeing 767 plane overshot the runway at Miami International Airport and burst into flames on Sunday.
The cargo plane departed Puerto Rico and crashed as it landed at Miami International Airport around 2 pm ET.
The plane hit vehicles, forcing a ground stop.
“21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico,” the FAA said.
“The FAA will investigate. Contact the airline for additional information,” the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The van struck by the plane had seven people in it, five of whom were killed.
The victims worked for a cleaning company.
NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy on Monday said the van was “torn apart.”
A car was also struck by the plane.

The Amazon cargo plane that overran a runway in Miami traveled roughly 1,300 feet beyond the paved surface, striking airport equipment, a van carrying seven people and a car, according to the NTSB.
The plane first hit navigational equipment before slamming into the contract cleaning company van.
The plane then tore through a perimeter fence, struck a Toyota, and continued into the grass before hitting another fence near an area where Tesla robotaxis were stationed.
