Seahawks vs. Patriots damage report: Latest on TreVeyon Henderson, Nick Emmanwori, Ty Okada and extra for Week 1

The New England Patriots are set to kick off their regular season on Wednesday evening with a challenging trip to Seattle, where they will meet the Seahawks at Lumen Field.

The Seahawks closed out the 2025 season in spectacular fashion, winning their final 10 games and ultimately defeating the Pats in Super Bowl LX to claim the championship.

For New England, this game presents an opportunity to erase some of the memories from that February defeat. Mike Vrabel’s side struggled from the opening whistle through the final minutes, with little to be optimistic about from that performance.

Ahead of Wednesday’s opener, we’ll break down the injury reports for both teams and look at the players who could be unavailable.

Seattle Seahawks injury report for Week 1

The Seahawks have ruled out starting safety Ty Okada for their regular-season opener against the New England Patriots, with the defender sidelined by a hamstring injury.

The Hawks have two other notable injury concerns heading into the Super Bowl rematch. Safety Nick Emmanwori is questionable after returning from ankle surgery he underwent before training camp, while wide receiver Tory Horton also received the same designation after being limited this week because of a hamstring injury.

Beyond those three players, Seattle has not assigned game statuses to anyone else on its roster. As a result, Julian Neal and Emanuel Wilson are expected to play despite missing the preseason. Neal has been working through a quadriceps issue, while Wilson has dealt with a hamstring injury.

Nick Emmanwori injury update

Nick Emmanwori is still working his way back from an ankle injury. He underwent arthroscopic surgery to clean up the problem during the offseason and was only able to participate on a limited basis during Seattle’s practices this week. As a result, the team has officially listed him as questionable for the opener.

With the regular season only beginning, Seattle has every reason to take a cautious approach with the young defensive star. Emmanwori’s availability is now likely to be decided closer to kickoff, making him a game-time decision.

Emmanwori has quickly become an important part of the Seahawks’ defense. As a rookie in 2025, he totaled 81 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception and 11 passes defended in 14 games.

Ty Okada injury update

The Seahawks will be without Ty Okada on Wednesday, with the safety officially ruled out because of a hamstring issue.

Okada, who started 11 games for Seattle last season, was projected to open the new season as the team’s other traditional safety next to Julian Love. That plan will now have to change after Seattle listed him as out on its final injury report Tuesday.

It is still unclear when Okada picked up the injury, but he did not participate in any practice sessions during the week. As a result, it wasn’t exactly a shock when the Seahawks confirmed that he would miss the season opener.

New England Patriots injury report

The Patriots have confirmed that two players will miss their trip to Seattle for the season opener, including running back TreVeyon Henderson.

Henderson was unable to practice all week because of an ankle injury and has been ruled out of Wednesday’s game.

New England will also be without offensive lineman Ben Brown, who has been sidelined throughout the week with a knee issue.

One positive development, however, is that defensive lineman Christian Barmore returned to full participation on Tuesday. After completing the session without restrictions, Barmore was removed from the injury report and is expected to be available against Seattle.

TreVeyon Henderson injury update

An ankle injury has kept TreVeyon Henderson off practice since he suffered the issue late last month, and the Patriots running back did not participate in a single practice session this week.

Henderson is coming off a strong first season in the NFL. He rushed 180 times for 911 yards and nine touchdowns in 2025, starring as one of the league’s more productive rookie backs.

Rhamondre Stevenson is set to handle the No. 1 running back duties with Henderson out, while Corey Kiner is expected to provide depth behind him.
