How to upgrade your gear in Valheim 1.0
You upgrade your weapons and armor in Valheim 1.0 by using the forges. Craft a forge at your base, and you can then walk up to the station to use it. Here, you’ll find two tabs: one to craft and another to upgrade. Click on the latter, and you’ll be able to cycle through a list of all your equipment. Select the one you wish to upgrade, and as long as you have the required materials, you can use the forge to do so.
Alternatively, you can also seek the new Forge of Potential. These are special forges you can find in the mountains. Approach one of these forges, and you can use Battle and Protection Idols to upgrade your gear.
Take note that this method of upgrading is RNG-based. Each time you use the Forge of Potential, you run a small risk of destroying your weapon. Keep this in mind when you’re using this method.
