India seamer Arshdeep Singh struck in his first over as Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz was dismissed for a duck for the second consecutive game in the penultimate T20I of the three-match series. The contest is being played on Tuesday, September 15, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The dismissal came off the third ball of the second over of Afghanistan’s innings. Arshdeep bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off that angled away, with Gurbaz looking to flat-bat it down the ground. However, he only managed a top edge, with Ravi Bishnoi completing the catch at mid-on.

The right-hander was dismissed for a three-ball duck, leaving Afghanistan in early trouble at 0/1 after 1.3 overs.
Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah start well for India in 2nd T20I
India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl, with the side making one change as Ravi Bishnoi replaced the injured Varun Chakaravarthy. The BCCI provided an update on the mystery spinner, noting:
“Varun Chakaravarthy experienced sudden-onset discomfort in his left lateral abdominal region while bowling his third over in the first T20I. Scans have revealed a side strain, and he has subsequently been ruled out of the remaining two T20Is.”
Right-arm seamer Jasprit Bumrah made a brilliant start with the new ball, delivering a maiden over to Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran. Arshdeep Singh then made an impact in the second over by dismissing Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who failed to open his account.
At the time of writing, Afghanistan were 24/1 after four overs, with Zadran (19 off 16) and Sediqullah Atal (4 off 5) at the crease.
