The Elite is one of the most influential factions in the current wrestling landscape. Its members consist of Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, and Jack Perry. Many popular names have worked with the group. One such star recently revealed that he is taking a break from wrestling.
Flip Gordon was a regular on Being The Elite. Even though he wasn’t officially a member of the Elite, his constant presence and impeccable value to the show and the faction make him an unforgettable part of not only the Elite, but also Bullet Club as a whole. He is currently signed to CMLL, and he revealed a few hours ago on X that he is taking a break from wrestling because he reenlisted in the Army National Guard. He wants to achieve certain goals in the Army before making his eventual in-ring return.
“I’ve made a pretty big life change. About a month ago, I reenlisted into the Army National Guard. When I left the Army, there were a lot of goals that I didn’t get to accomplish because at the same time my professional wrestling career had started to take off. And I chose that dream. And for eleven years, professional wrestling was my life. But now I have the opportunity to go back to the army and finish what I started,” he said.
Former Elite member Flip Gordon is not surprised to see Bandido, Rush, and Willow Nightingale’s success in AEW
In a recent conversation with Fightful’s Luis Palido, Flip Gordon said that he is not surprised to see members of Ring of Honor’s 2020 roster achieve success in other promotions. He knew that Bandido, Rush, and Willow Nightingale would become huge stars.
“To be honest, I’m not very surprised. I felt back in 2020 that we had a very underrated roster. So, to see them all go do great things, I’m not surprised at all…..So to see everybody doing what they’re doing now, like you said, Bandido, Rush, Willow Nightingale, myself, and many others, I’m not surprised at all because I knew at the time with the roster we had that we were capable of doing big things,” he said.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Gordon. Perhaps he will officially join All Elite Wrestling and the Elite someday.
