During the game, the ESPN broadcast showed Rowe giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from this highly anticipated football game. However, the broadcast then quickly cut from her to Rutledge without any professional transition.

“Resorting to insulting a woman’s physical appearance who’s just doing her job a week after she buried her Mom and was caught up in a controversy she had nothing to do with causing is complete lowlife behavior,” one fan commented.

Previously, both Rowe and Rutledge made headlines after failing to interview Steve Sarkisian during the Texas vs. Ohio State game last Saturday. Rowe’s clip of the Longhorns coach abruptly leaving went viral on social media.
After the game, quarterback Arch Manning also received criticism for laughing at an AI edit of Sarkisian in which he slaps Rowe. Following the backlash, he issued a public apology, which the ESPN reporter accepted.
Saturday’s game at Oxford ended with the Ole Miss Rebels securing a 32-24 victory over the LSU Tigers.
Steve Sarkisian addresses Holly Rowe-Arch Manning controversy
During Thursday’s media availability, Steve Sarkisian addressed the situation involving Arch Manning and Holly Rowe.
The Texas coach highlighted the quarterback’s apology and hoped to move forward on a positive note.
“Arch recognizes he made a mistake, and it’s an unfortunate one,” Sarkisian said. “Nowhere do we condone domestic violence or violence against women. Nothing in our program says that nor Arch individually.
“I think if he could take it back, he would. But he has since apologized to Holly. He’s made a public apology, and you know our goal is that we can move forward and him be the guy that we all know that he is and what he represents. So those are the two house cleaning things I wanted to make sure I address with all of you on this call, and then get into the football side of things.”
Holly Rowe joined ESPN full-time back in 1998.
