The Headline vs The Ring General: WWE Dream Match For Gunther Publicly Called Out

Gunther is one of the top heels in WWE right now and arguably one of the best professional wrestlers in the world today. A young star recently stated that the Ring General is his dream opponent. The star in question is none other than NXT’s Mason Rook.

The 39-year-old star has been on a generational run for the last one year. In the last year, the Ring General retired Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles and has been dominating the SmackDown roster. He defeated the SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis in his return match at SummerSlam infront of his friends and family. He’s also getting majorly featured on SmackDown and is part of the Undisputed WWE Championship scene there.

Mason Rook who debuted in WWE earlier this year recently claimed that he wants to face Gunther in a dream match. The British wrestler gained prominence in the independent wrestling scene for his huge physique. During his recent appearance on the Busted Open Radio, Rook stated that he wants to face the Ring General one day.

It would be exciting to see Mason Rook in a match with the Career Killer.

John Cena shared his thoughts on Gunther’s current WWE run

The Ring General ended the illustrious career of John Cena by tapping him out to his Sleeper Hold at Saturday Night’s Main Event last year. He etched his name in history by retiring the Cenation leader. However, his booking over the last few months has been rather underwhelming. While speaking to WrestleRant, Cena shared his thoughts on the Ring General’s booking.

“I’ll answer the Gunther question specifically. His story is not done. I think he’s in that position right now where he’s making moves based on the equity of Gunther. Sometimes you don’t get a dance partner that’s equal or greater to you. Sometimes you don’t get a 25-year veteran like AJ Styles to make him retire, or sometimes you don’t get to retire John Cena. Sometimes you’ve got to lift up younger talent. Sometimes you’ve got to hold the show by yourself,” Cena said.
