Snapchat announced a range of artificial intelligence-powered updates for Lens+ subscribers, including Snap-to-song, which enables users to generate a song from their chats, AI re-touching for photos, and a remix option to re-create the scene in an image.
First, Snapchat launched a new option that will let users generate songs from chat messages.

As shown in these example screens, users can select a message and genre, and the DM text will be translated into an AI-generated song.
The idea stems from the short-form video trend of social media users generating songs from chats.
Snapchat’s hoping to drive more engagement in the app by extending that trend into a functional addition.
Snapchat is also rolling out AI Photoshoot, which will offer AI editing options to clean up and improve images before sharing.

As explained by Snapchat: “Not every great Snap happens with perfect timing. With AI Photoshoot, quickly clean up those almost-favorite photos—whether someone blinked, looked away, got caught making a funny face, or simply stuck in some bad lighting—so you can share the moment you meant to capture without needing to retake the shot.”
There’s also a new AI Remix option, which will let users re-create images with entirely new scenarios and contexts.

As well as AI-enhanced fonts, including bubble letters, fuzzy textures and spray paint.

Snapchat also added a new option that will enable Lens+ subscribers to remix stickers into new styles.

These new elements will be available to paying Snapchat users as part of the platform’s Lens+ subscription option, which gives users access to more advanced AI options.
Meanwhile, Snapchat+ subscribers are getting a new option that will let them create a 3D model of their home for display on the Snap Map, with users able to select a location and customize their home’s appearance.
These additional options for paying Snapchat users will add to the company’s broader subscription offering and ideally drive more interest in its evolving creation tools.
Though like all social platforms, Snapchat is also reckoning with the impact of AI-generated content and rising negative response from users.
Last month, Snapchat announced an update to its Spotlight algorithm that will reduce the reach of wholly AI-generated videos.
That announcement reflects the difficult balance platforms need to maintain, in both leaning into AI-powered creativity and limiting overuse and overwhelm in the feed.
