Martina Navratilova has made fun of Donald Trump after the US President put pressure on GOP senators to eliminate the 60-vote threshold of the Senate Filibuster by claiming that failure to do so would negatively impact the political future of not just the Republicans, but also the USA at large. Navratilova, a former World No. 1 women’s tennis superstar, is one of Trump’s fiercest critics in the public sphere.
Taking to his self-owned social media platform Truth Social with the mid-term elections on the horizon, Trump wrote:

“If Senate Republicans don’t TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, the Dumocrats will, and I will be, despite how well our Party is doing, the last Republican President! The Dumocrats will vote in Puerto Rico (4% Republican vote), and Washington D.C. (3% Republican vote), to pick up 4 Senators, 8 Congressmen/women, tremendous numbers of Popular and Electoral College Votes and, importantly, control the Voting Mechanisms and Systems, both Legal and otherwise, throughout the United States.”
He added:
“It will be impossible for Republicans to ever win an election again. In other words, it will be THE END OF AMERICA! Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
18-time women’s singles major champion Martina Navratilova took notice of the US President’s post on X (formerly Twitter) and initially reacted with:
“For a change , trump has some good ideas:)”
Subsequently, another X user replied to Navratilova, calling the Czech-American tennis legend ‘a moron’. The user wrote:
“I used to like you. Now you sound like a moron!”
Navratilova once more issued a playful reaction, replying:
“I am gutted. Signed- a moron:)”
Martina Navratilova takes swipe at Donald Trump over US President’s golfing abilities
Donald Trump has a passion for golf and recently, the US President spent time playing the sport alongside two-time major champion Bryson DeChambeau. He later took to social media to share a snippet of the outing. One user criticized Trump over the President playing golf using Americans’ tax money.
Martina Navratilova, commenting on the user’s post, took a brazen swipe at Trump’s golf skills, writing on X:
“His golf stinks, too. After playing that much… lol. If that backswing is any lower he will hit a squirrel.”
Over the years, Navratilova has repeatedly criticized Trump and the Republicans over their politics, and things are likely to stay this way for the foreseeable future.
