WWE star shares message after dethroning Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio‘s reign as a title holder recently ended with his defeat at the hands of a WWE star. The latter took to social media to post a message afterwards.

Mysterio had been the AAA Mega Champion for a year before his recent match against El Grande Americano. The two had been allies before a feud broke out between them, culminating at TripleMania 34. In the No Disqualification match, El Grande Americano was able to defeat Dominik Mysterio, becoming the new AAA Mega Champion.

Afterwards, El Grande Americano took to Instagram to share a photo with his newly won belt. The caption stated:

“He who wants something, something costs him #ElGrandeAmericano #LuchaLibre #México” (translated from: El que algo quiere, algo le cuesta #ElGrandeAmericano #LuchaLibre #México)

A WWE veteran believes El Grande Americano should stay in AAA

According to JBL, El Grande Americano is a better fit for AAA than WWE at the moment.

After Americano won the match with Chad Gable a few weeks back and became the only one to be known as El Grande Americano, JBL spoke about him on Busted Open. The veteran stated:

“I want him to stay in Mexico. There’s no doubt about it to me. It’s hard to get over. It’s hard to get over anywhere. If guys can get over anywhere, I don’t care if it’s Tennessee, Japan, Puerto Rico, Mexico, it doesn’t matter. If you can get over, that’s tough to do. He is the biggest star in Mexico right now, and that is amazing. I would ride this AAA wave. I don’t know what they’re coming for next. I don’t have any insight about this so I’m not giving away anything from meetings or anything. But I think they’re gonna get a pretty good TV deal coming up. They got a good TV Fox deal down from Mexico down south, all the way down to South America. I think they’ll get another TV deal.”

As of now, it remains to be seen what El Grande Americano will do next in AAA, and if he will show up in WWE again down the line.
