AEW is having an amazing year. They have a strong roster, and they are currently preparing to host All Out 2026. The upcoming pay-per-view will take place this weekend in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Interestingly, one of their top stars recently won a title.
Former WWE star John Morrison joined All Elite Wrestling a few years back. He has been wrestling on the independent circuit as well, and he recently locked horns with fellow AEW star Mansoor in an Indian wrestling promotion called Pro Wrestling Rebellion (PWR).
Morrison defeated Mansoor and became the inaugural PWR World Heavyweight Champion. This event took place in Delhi, India. The veteran won this title under the name ‘Johnny Bollywood’. He is known as Johnny TV when he is performing for All Elite Wrestling or Ring of Honor.
Morrison last appeared on the Tony Khan company a few months back in June on Collision. He teamed up with Mansoor & Mason Madden and wrestled the Conglomeration (Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong). Morrison and co. failed to win, but this was a captivating showdown.
John Morrison says he feels underutilized in AEW
In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, John Morrison said that he feels underutilized in All Elite Wrestling. However, he is doing whatever he can with the TV time he is getting assigned.
“But for me right now, in AEW, I feel underutilized. Can’t blame anyone, that’s just how wrestling promotions work. There’s only enough TV time for a certain amount of people. Those people at AEW, we’ve coined the term the island. Those people are on the island, so to speak. I don’t feel like I’m on the island with Tony or AEW right now. So because of that, I feel like I’m doing like 10-20% of what I’m capable of, storytelling-wise, wrestling-wise, in the ring,” [H/T: NoDq]
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the veteran. Hopefully, he will end this year on a strong note.
