Dylan Larkin has expanded the number of teams he is willing to join, with the Detroit Red Wings now having more potential destinations to work with. None of the reported teams are in Canada.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Friday’s episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast that Larkin has added Colorado, Washington, Dallas and Tampa Bay to the teams he would consider.
“One of the things I heard about Larkin is that there are more teams that he’s willing to go to than what have been reported,” Friedman said. “I think some of the other teams there are Colorado, Washington, and I suspect, in case people didn’t know them already, Dallas and Tampa.”
That would put Dylan Larkin’s list at around eight teams. Florida, Minnesota and Vegas were previously reported as options. Larkin did not confirm any of those destinations when he reported to Red Wings training camp.

Dylan Larkin has not revealed why he asked for a trade
Dylan Larkin has not explained what led him to ask the Detroit Red Wings for a trade, even after speaking about the request at the start of training camp. Asked about it, Larkin said personal matters were involved but that he wasn’t ready to discuss them publicly.
“There’s a lot there, a lot of personal stuff in that, and to be honest, I’m not ready to go there yet,” Larkin said. “I understand that there are answers that fans and people that care about this organization around the world want to know, but I’m really not ready to go there.
“I’m here right now, and my focus right now is on the upcoming season with the Detroit Red Wings.”
Dylan Larkin has five years left on his contract at an $8.7 million annual average value and has a full no-movement clause. Any trade would therefore require his approval. Detroit also removed Larkin as captain before training camp. He had worn the “C” for the previous six seasons.
