Josh Hokit is set to face Ciryl Gane next for the undisputed UFC heavyweight title. However, ‘The Incredible Hok’ does not appear to be done with his rivalry against Alex Pereira just yet.
During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani show, the veteran journalist asked Hokit how the fight came together, given that Pereira had also been campaigning for the opportunity.
Hokit wasted no time in taking aim at Pereira, accusing him of witchcraft:
“Alex Pereira. He paints his face in women’s mascara. He’s witchcraft. He wants to say Chama, and that sh**t is from, you know, the shaman. You know what I’m saying? And shamans, they don’t believe in the one true God.”

Hokit added:
“So it’s like everyone’s saying Chama, and it’s like it’s putting curses on everybody. You know what I’m saying? That’s why he got f**ked up by Ciryl Gane. The wrath of God came upon him.”

Although bizarre, Hokit is hardly the first fighter to accuse Pereira of turning to the supernatural for an unfair advantage in his fights. Former light heavyweight champion Jiří Procházka once similarly accused ‘Poatan‘ of using shamanistic magic to enhance his performance.
These rumors surrounding Pereira stem from his indigenous ancestry and his Pataxo tribe heritage. ‘Poatan’ has regularly embraced his indigenous roots by participating in traditional Pataxo dances, blessings, and cleansing rituals.

Josh Hokit will face perennial heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane on Nov.14 at UFC 334 inside Madison Square Garden with the coveted heavyweight title on the line.
Hokit appears to be brimming with confidence and has vowed to put a thorough beating on the Frenchman. In a recent post on X, ‘The Incredible Hok’ offered a sneak peek at his game plan for ‘Bon Gamin’, while promising nothing short of carnage:
“Know’m sayin’, fam? Timing, distance & range. Nov 14th, Ciryl Gane’s face gone change.”
Hokit remains undefeated in his MMA career and has already picked up two notable wins this year. He first defeated Curtis Blaydes via unanimous decision in April before making a quick turnaround in June at UFC Freedom 250, where he secured a second-round TKO victory over Derrick Lewis.
