Lecce host a winless Bologna in Serie A on Sunday, aiming for just their third top-flight win of the season. Having avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last term, it’s turning out to be another campaign of struggle for them.
The Salentini have won just twice, triumphing away to Venezia (2-0) on the opening matchday before beating Monza 3-2 on matchday four, while losing the rest.
Thanks for the submission!
With just six points in the bag from five matches, Eusebio Di Francesco’s side are in 12th place in the league table, just two points clear of the relegation zone.
Another loss on Sunday could plunge their season into crisis mode again, but Lecce need to find their attacking boots to stave off the red zone.
In five matches, they’ve only scored five goals. For context, only Parma (4), Venezia (4) and Bologna (3) have netted fewer than Lecce at this stage.
Speaking of Bologna, the Rossoblu are still searching for their first win of the Serie A season as they have drawn twice and lost thrice from their opening five matches.
For a side that finished eighth and came agonizingly close to securing European football, it’s been a steep decline in form.
Head coach Domenico Tedesco lasted just about three months into the job as the Italian was fired last month following their disappointing start to the season and was replaced by Raffaele Palladino, whose tenure got off to a 1-1 draw to Torino on 19 September.
As Bologna resume their league campaign on Sunday, Palladino will be hoping for better fortunes.

Lecce vs Bologna Prediction
Lecce’s terrible home record against Bologna makes it difficult to see them pick up a win here, but a loss isn’t likely either given how atrocious the Rossoblu have been in all regards this season. We’re going with a draw here.
