An NFL social media staffer who decided to virtue-signal for the left on Columbus Day should be having a bad day after failing to understand the nickname of the team they are working for.

As TGP readers know, Americans celebrated Columbus Day yesterday in honor of the brave Italian explorer who discovered America. Woke Democrats for several years have been trying to erase his name due to what they see as horrific crimes committed against the native peoples of the newly discovered world.

Instead, they celebrate something called “Indigenous Peoples’ Day.”

Three NFL teams decided to join the woke brigade and snub Columbus as well. One of these teams was the Minnesota Vikings.

The other 29 teams remained silent, celebrating nothing.

“Today we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day and honor the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples,” the team’s X account wrote. “We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from and engage with Indigenous leaders, organizations, and community members who help strengthen Minnesota every day.”

Beyond getting hammered for pc pandering, the Vikings were not prepared for the flood of comments from X users who had some choice words about the people the team was named after.

The Vikings were notoriously infamous for horrific acts of human brutality from the late 8th century to the late 11th century, including r*pe, murder, pillaging, and slavery.

Yet they virtue-signal for people who demonize Columbus.

Ouch.
