Drew McIntyre Reacts to CM Punk’s Body Transformation During His WWE Hiatus

Drew McIntyre and CM Punk had the best feud known to WWE in the last two years. Such fierce rivals, now two years after their feud, still have hostility toward each other, which Drew discussed on the Dan Soder podcast. An example of Punk’s body transformation was brought up, and he agreed but also backed off from praising him.

McIntyre has been away from WWE since WrestleMania 42 this year. He went to film his movie, Highlander, and some other projects as well. Punk is still wrestling, though, and Drew wonders how the once-skinny Punk has gotten in shape over the past six months.

Like Drew, even the WWE Universe was surprised to see the bulky Second City Saint return to RAW after his two-month hiatus from WM until the start of July.

“I saw he got himself in shape. Now that I’ve been gone for five months, he finally found the gym, that skinny-fat piece of cr*p. It was like, ‘Oh, you’re in good shape.’ For you. You’re not in good shape. Look at me. I’m in good shape. You’re in good shape for you,” said Drew McIntyre.

McIntyre, while mentioning that the Chicago-made star has finally hit the gym, added that he’s in good shape and shouldn’t be compared to Drew’s. Even though it’s been months since they last met, the kayfabe bitterness remains.

Drew McIntyre revealed a story about his WrestleMania 36 match

On the same Dan Soder podcast, Drew McIntyre shared a unique behind-the-scenes detail about his first historic WWE Championship victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36.

He revealed that because the event took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando during the pandemic, his match against The Beast Incarnate was actually filmed a week before it aired.

“It was filmed the week prior, so the fun thing was I watched Mania with the world. I watched it with my wife on the couch eating popcorn. And then after I won the title, she presented me the title at home, which was really cool,” he said.

This unusual timeline let Drew experience his win like any other fan, from the comfort of his home. He watched his career milestone from his couch with his wife while eating popcorn.
