Federer, I’ve acquired your message

A movie trailer for an upcoming queer movie, called ‘Forty Love,’ recently got major traction online as the male actor coincidentally had a lot of similarities to how Rafael Nadal dressed in his prime days. Starring David Beckham’s second son, Romeo Beckham, the film is creating a lot of buzz because it also paid a homage to a real-life quote that Rafael Nadal once said about Roger Federer.

During the 2017 US Open press conference, ahead of the potential semi-final between the two, when Nadal was asked what he admires most about his greatest rival, Roger Federer, he said:

“I don’t want to look like I’m gonna be his boyfriend, no?” Rafael Nadal had said.

The movie too uses similar dialogue, where Romeo Beckham’s character says:

“I don’t want to sound like I want to be his boyfriend,” Romeo Beckham says.

Fans were quick to point out the art imitating life and commented:

“I don’t want to look like I’m gonna be his boyfriend is quoted verbatim, being sponsored by On Running. Roger Federer, I have received your message and am ready to discuss,” one fan commented.

the long haired sleeveless shirt-wearing twunk in the gay tennis movie where nadal’s “i don’t want to look like i gonna be his boyfriend” gets quoted verbatim being sponsored by on running… roger federer i have received your message and am ready to discuss

“It’s gonna be horrendous, but I’ll be there,” another fan wrote.

Carlos Alcaraz gets advice to follow Roger Federer post Shanghai Masters heartbreak

The World No. 3 recently was unable to hold his form at the Shanghai Masters as his opponent Zizou Bergs defeated him in the second match of the tournament. The Spaniard was visibly upset after the match, and in the aftermath of the incident, he received some advice from the US Open finalist Greg Rusedski on what Alcaraz should be doing going forward.

“Federer throughout his career played 12 events a year, he won seven of them and his ranking was one or two and he was winning majors. So play less; it’s as simple as that!” Greg Rusedski said.

Alcaraz has been vocal about the demanding tennis schedule that takes a toll on the players’ health. He also suggested he might start missing some major events in the future. Rusedski had supported the decision and advised Alcaraz to even reduce the schedule further.

After the Shanghai Masters early exit, Carlos Alcaraz’s next match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in the first round of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna.
