WWE veteran R-Truth suffered a real-life injury this past Friday. To make matters worse, another superstar legitimately got hurt during a match and had to be stretchered out of the arena.
NXT hosted a live event at the Community Arena in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, on October 16. The show featured major superstars, such as Kendal Grey and Cruz Montana. A massive eight-man tag team bout pitting Shiloh Hill, Tavion Heights, Tony D’Angelo, and Shawn Spears against BirthRight headlined the house show.
Thanks for the submission!
The babyface squad defeated Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors, and Channing Lorenzo. Unfortunately, Lorenzo suffered a legitimate injury during the multi-man contest. Lorenzo hit his face on the ring post and landed awkwardly on his back in a sequence. As a result, the referee was forced to throw up the X signal. The BirthRight member was stretchered out of the arena.

The house show in Sudbury showcased three title matches. Jackson Drake successfully defended his NXT North American Championship against Saquon Shugars. Zaria retained the Women’s North American Title against Thea Hail and Izzi Dame. The NXT Tag Team Championship was also in the line, as The Vanity Project bested Los Americanos.
How Did WWE Veteran R-Truth Get Injured?
R-Truth is embroiled in a heated rivalry with his former tag team partner, Damian Priest. In September, Priest backstabbed Truth after they lost an AAA World Tag Team Championship match against The War Raiders. Last Friday, the duo was involved in a backstage altercation.
The friends-turned-rivals finally got the chance to settle their differences in the ring on this week’s WWE SmackDown. Unsurprisingly, Priest gained the upper hand early in the match. However, Truth took the fight to The Archer of Infamy. At one point, the former United States Champion hit a top rope dropkick on Priest.
Truth landed awkwardly while executing the high-risk maneuver. The referee quickly threw up the X signal, suggesting the veteran’s injury was legitimate. WWE has yet to provide an official update on the 54-year-old’s condition.
We at Sportskeeda wish Channing Lorenzo and R-Truth a quick recovery.
