Best Enshrouded 1.0 Tank construct information

The best Tank build in Enshrouded 1.0 primarily focuses on high survivability, enemy control, and sustained melee combat. You can also gain some excellent support skills that would eventually benefit your party if you are playing with friends.

This build uses the Crestflame set, the Mace of Wrath, Commander’s Rings, and uses skills tied to the Guardian and Warrior trees. The overall idea is to create a build that prioritizes Constitution, Endurance, and Intelligence rather than a pure Strength-based damage build. Constitution increases your Health, Endurance shores up your stamina during combat, and Intelligence improves the effectiveness of your healing.

While you can get around 98 skill points from reaching level 50, you can also gain up to 114 skill points by completing Elixir Wells (3 points each) and Shroud Root (1 point each).

In this guide, we will break down how to build the best Tank build in Enshrouded 1.0.

This Tank build is designed specifically for players who want to have the highest chance of survival in the game while protecting their party members. This build generates high enemy threat, heals allies, and maintains pressure on enemies.

The primary equipment is one-handed weapons and shields, along with heavy armor. For healing buffs and minor magic, you will also be able to use a wand or staff, which will also provide you with ranged options.

Enshrouded Tank class playstyle

The Tank build always acts as a frontline bulkhead, attracting the enemy’s attention and surviving massive incoming damage. Your success relies on parrying, counterattacks, and sustained healing.

Here’s how the combat rotation of the Tank usually plays out:

  • Generate threat by immediately closing the gap using Evasion Attack.
  • Overwhelm enemies using constant attacks which will fill up their stun bar.
  • Use Merciless Attack to punish stunned targets.
  • Even though you will be healing passively from life leech skills and buffs, always assess your situation before committing to an attack. Fall back and heal up whenever you need it rather than completely relying on passives.
  • If you are playing in a group, you will need to actively keep generating threats to attract every enemy towards you.

For ranged targets, use the wand; for sustained healing, use a staff. But using a staff for healing requires you to channel the spell, leaving you open for attack. So make sure you position yourself properly.

Tank build Pros and Cons

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Tank build in Enshrouded:

Pros

Cons

Strong defense and high health pool.

Lower damage output than other builds.

Generates threat to attract enemies.

Requires you to attack enemies constantly to generate threat, leaving you more vulnerable.

Supports healing and group sustain.

Healing activates on specific conditions.

Shield blocks and parrying offer straightforward and reliable gameplay.

Requires precise timing for successful parries. Blocks can fail if the incoming attack exceeds your block capacity.

Melee and magic make it a versatile build.

Can sometimes feel clunky and sluggish.

The build is best used for group players due to its sustainability.

Not the best build for Solo players due to low damage output.

For the Tank build in Enshrouded 1.0, you will be targeting both the Guardian and Warrior paths as its base. Although you will also be investing in other core skills and utility options, Guardian and Warrior remain a priority.

Depending on how much of the map you have explored and cleared, you will be allotting your skill points. Here’s how you will be spending them from the beginning until you reach level 50:

Early Game Perks (Level 1 – 10)

For the early game, you should focus on melee damage, mobility, and stamina management to survive the early game until you actually start getting good equipment. Here’s every skill that you need to pick:

  • Double Jump
  • Merciless Attack
  • Power Parry
  • Constitution
  • Warrior’s Path
  • Strength
  • Battle Heal
  • One-Handed Specialization
  • Endurance
  • Intelligence

Merciless Attack is an absolute must-get as early as possible, as it allows you to deliver massive blows to overpowered enemies. Since you will be using one-handed weapons primarily, getting One-Handed Specialization increases the overall proficiency of the weapon type, making combat much easier in the long run.

Mid Game Progression (Level 11 – 25)

For the mid-game section, invest in skills that improve your defense, mobility, and sustainability. Here’s every node that you need to get:

  • Heavy Plates
  • Shiny Plates
  • Constitution
  • Warden
  • Tower
  • Thick Skin
  • Nemesis
  • Earth Aura
  • Battle Heal
  • Heavy Handed
  • Wet Dog
  • Vigorous Deflection
  • Veteran
  • Evasion Attack

Both Heavy Plates and Shiny Plates are necessary to shore up defenses, while Tower and Warden provide additional defensive benefits while you are dealing with multiple targets.

Once you have invested in Nemesis, you will begin generating threats and attracting enemies towards yourself. If you are playing solo, you can skip this skill.

Endgame and final Skill Tree setup (Level 26 – 50)

For the endgame, you will need to complete the full Guardian setup and move on to additional skills that will benefit your overall experience in the game.

Here are some of the additional skills that you should get:

  • Bash
  • Soaked Dog
  • Crash Down Attack
  • Upward Slash Attack
  • Runner
  • Good Metabolism
  • Desert Stomach
  • Strategic Manoeuvre
  • Additional Points into Constitution, Endurance, Intelligence, and possibly Strength.

Crash Down Attack and Upward Slash Attack will add to your attack capability. Strategic Manoeuvre grants you the ability to roll sideways while locked to your target. Soaked Dog further decreases the debuffs you get while wet. Desert Stomach adds an extra food slot to your character.

This concludes your general leveling setup, but you can also get up to 114 skill points by completing additional activities on the map. Spend them to further improve your skill and base stats.

Here are some of the best Survival, Mobility, and Utility options that you can look into:

  • Double Jump
  • Evasion Attack
  • Runner
  • Vigorous Deflection

  • Updraft

Skills that you should get after acquiring additional skill points

Since you will be getting 1 skill point per Shroud Root and 3 skill points per Elixir Well, here are some of the skills that you should invest in to further improve your build:

  • Invest in more Constitution, Endurance, Intelligence, and Strength nodes.
  • Healer
  • Slasher
  • Crash Down: Force
  • Blink
  • Emergency Blink
  • Swift Blades
  • Breach
  • Survival Instinct
  • Purification

  • Grounding Hook

Best Weapons for Tank build in Enshrouded 1.0

Best melee weapons

There is no one weapon that you should use for this build. The best weapon for you depends on what you want your playstyle to be, so here are three choices for you, each of which offers a different gameplay experience:

  • +10% Magic Ice Damage
  • 20% Merciless (increases the effectiveness of Merciless Attack)

Since you are constantly relying on blocking, overpowering, and stunning targets, I would highly recommend using the Mace of Wrath to deal massive damage at once using Merciless Attack. Its triple stack of 20% Merciless deals devastating damage to stunned targets.

Here are some of the best Gems that you should get to gain the best stat bonuses for this Tank build:

1) Gem of Retaliation

2) Gem of Battle Mania

  • While the Elixir buff is active, dealing damage activates the Satisfied Battle Mania buff which grants additional Health, Mana, and Stamina regeneration for a short period of time.
  • Note that every attack during the buff period will increase the duration of the buff, but once the buff runs out, you will get the Unsatisfied Battle Mania debuff, which will stop any Health, Mana, and Stamina regeneration for a brief period.

3) Gem of Bloodlust

  • Has a chance to spawn health orbs.
  • Collecting a health orb increases the cutting damage of attacks.

Enshrouded Tank build Gameplay and Combat Tips

While melee is the primary focus of this build, you can also improvise and use ranged weapons (Image via Keen Games)While melee is the primary focus of this build, you can also improvise and use ranged weapons (Image via Keen Games)
While melee is the primary focus of this build, you can also improvise and use ranged weapons (Image via Keen Games)

The Tank’s primary effectiveness depends on how much damage it can take and how long it can survive. Since its primary job is to generate threat and attract all attention towards itself, you will need to be extremely vigilant about block and parry timings, which will open up Merciless Attack windows. Here are some of the tips and tricks for using the Tank build in Enshrouded:

  • Make sure to close the gap between you and your target but don’t stray too far away from your group/party.
  • Maintain constant threat by dishing out damage to any nearby target and healing your party members.
  • Master Blocking and Parrying mechanics to avoid taking unnecessary damage from random enemies. This will also help you deliver Merciless Attacks.
  • Don’t shy away from using elixirs and food to buff up your abilities before entering battle.
  • Use jump and double jumps to deliver Crash Down attacks and Upward Slash attacks.
  • Remember not to overcommit to any attack against stronger enemies.
