It’s finest to allow them to go,” “AEW is ok with out them

A revelation about AEW faction The Hurt Syndicate being absent for a while sparked a wave of online reactions from fans.

The trio of Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP reunited their popular WWE faction after debuting in AEW in 2024. They had one of the most captivating runs as a team; however, the Hurt Syndicate has been barely featured on television this year.

Moreover, their last appearance came at the All In 2026 Buy-In show. A recent report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful stated that Hurt Syndicate refusing to put over other talent could be a possible reason for their extended absence. It led to a lot of reactions exploding on social media.

One fan said that the company was fine without them and that they were not a great fit for them. Another fan bluntly said it was better for Tony Khan to release them, and another user backed him.

“AEW is fine without them. Love MVP on the mic but they’re not a great fit anyway.”

“It’s best to let them go tbh.”

@KXNGAO AEW is fine without them. Love MVP on the mic but they’re not a great fit anyway.

@KXNGAO It’s best to let them go tbh.

@KXNGAO Bobby’s been with the company since 2024 & STILL hasn’t taken 1 pin..I think it’s time to let him & mvp go

Interestingly, there was a section of fans who still supported Shelton Benjamin, but viciously berated Bobby Lashley and MVP for not getting talent over.

@KXNGAO I love hearing ‘we hurt people’ but that ‘that doesn’t work for me brother’ attitude is disgusting, it’s such a shame, I let Shelton out of this honestly, I think he’s not like that

@KXNGAO Damn.. I bet by now if Shelton was on his own he would’ve been tnt or international or continental champ or competed in the main event. There could still be hope but just bring Shelton back by himself

@KXNGAO it’s a shame that bobby coming in derailed what was such an awesome shelton benjamin run & also Shelton has put people over in AEW.

Hurt Syndicate member teased new project amid AEW hiatus

Hurt Syndicate member Bobby Lashley teased a new venture outside AEW via an Instagram post a few months ago. The former WWE Champion didn’t reveal many details but said it might involve financial advisory. He wrote:

“I’ve been thinking a lot about legacy lately — not just what I’ve earned, but what I do with it. Real estate, smart diversification, learning to make my money work as hard as I do. It’s a different kind of discipline, but it’s the same mindset: patience, research, playing the long game. I’ve made some really good business deals along the way, and honestly the biggest lesson has been that the decisions matter more than the deals themselves. Now I’m building something to pass that knowledge on — not just what I’ve done, but how I think about it. It’s about building something that lasts. More on this soon. 👀🔥,” Lashley wrote.

With all members in the final years of their in-ring careers, Bobby Lashley seems to be thinking about his post-wrestling future.
