Elena Rybakina successfully defended her Ningbo Open title with a 6-2, 6-2 romp over Leylah Fernandez in the tournament final on Sunday in Ningbo, China.

Rybakina, a Russia-born Kazakhstani, secured her fourth title of the year after recording three aces and saving all four break points she faced to dismiss the Canadian in 76 minutes.

The tournament win was the first for Rybakina since she became the top-ranked player in he world. She also claimed titles at the Australian Open, Stuttgart and the U.S. Open.

Fernandez, the 30th-ranked player in the world, committed three double faults in her bid for her seventh career title — and second since winning in Singapore in September.

Japan Open

Katerina Siniakova needed just 64 minutes to post a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Ashlyn Krueger in the final in Osaka.

The Czech captured her sixth career singles title — and first since the Jiangxi Open in Nanchang, China, in 2023 — after winning the final 10 games of the match.

Krueger, who won the Japan Open in 2023, had 34 unforced errors against 10 winners.
