3 Reasons why Sami Zayn didn’t lose his Undisputed WWE Championship on RAW

Sami Zayn recaptured the Undisputed WWE Championship, beating CM Punk on the September 11 edition of Friday Night SmackDown in Mexico. The Honorary Uce has surpassed 44 days as champion despite many observers predicting he would lose the Undisputed Title soon.

On the October 26 edition of Monday Night RAW, Sami Zayn came close to losing the title when General Manager Adam Pearce booked an impromptu Undisputed WWE Championship match between Zayn and Je’Von Evans.

The Last Real Good Guy punished Evans early in the bout. Zayn tried to end the match quickly, but Je’Von turned the tide, came remarkably close to beating Sami and ending his reign.

Seeing himself in trouble, the Honorary Uce tried to leave the match. However, Penta prevented Sami from running away and even tried to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

But Bron Breakker rushed in and attacked Penta, distracting Je’Von Evans; Sami Zayn took advantage and connected his signature Helluva Kick, pinning the rising star to retain his title.

In this article, we will take a look at three reasons why Sami Zayn didn’t lose his Undisputed WWE Championship on RAW.

#3. Set to face Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel

Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns are set to collide in the Champion vs. Champion match at the 2026 Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.

Zayn and Reigns share a personal history: The Last Real Good Guy was part of The Bloodline for a long time as the Honorary Uce.

Moreover, Crown Jewel 2026 will take place at the Riyadh Season Stadium in the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It’s a place deeply associated with Sami Zayn and his fans; they consider him their home star.

Keeping that in mind, Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns is indeed the biggest box-office attraction the Stamford-based promotion could have booked for Crown Jewel this year. Hence, WWE may have decided not to take the Undisputed WWE Championship off The Last Real Good Guy.

#2. Je’Von Evans not ready for a WWE world title run

Je’Von Evans is only 22, but has already made his name in World Wrestling Entertainment by competing in high-stakes matches like the traditional Money in the Bank ladder match, where he left a lasting impact with his fall through the roof of an ambulance.

Evans has had more moments where he elevated himself. However, while the Young OG has all the tools to become a champion, it’s too early for him, as he is still establishing himself week by week. That may be another reason why Sami Zayn didn’t lose his Undisputed WWE Championship on Monday Night RAW.

#1. Je’Von Evans is a RAW star

The Undisputed WWE Championship is Friday Night SmackDown’s main title, and the World Heavyweight Championship is Monday Night RAW’s primary title. Je’Von Evans is a superstar on the red brand.

With that in mind, the Young OG winning the Undisputed WWE Championship would make no sense, since he represents RAW and the company won’t feature both main titles on the same weekly show. So Sami Zayn retained the strap and took it back on SmackDown.

That said, the angles above are speculative, and nothing has been officially confirmed. It will be interesting to see what plans Triple H and the creative team have in store for Zayn as champion in the coming weeks.
