Kit Wilson‘s singles run was initially considered to be a success on WWE SmackDown, since it’s unclear how long Elton Prince will be out of action after his recent neck surgery.

The former Tag Team Champions have gone their separate ways, but after recent uncertainty on SmackDown and appearances on Main Event, it seems that Wilson has decided to change up his look.

The former champion shared the following update on Instagram last night, showing off his new ring gear.

It is worth noting that his arm bands have remained the same, but he has lost the jacket and the long trousers.

It’s unclear why he felt the need to make the change, but Wilson could now be looking to push himself back into title pictures on SmackDown.

WWE could have big plans for Kit Wilson

Kit Wilson wasn’t expected to get the reaction that he did when he was revamped as a singles star and WWE could have allowed him to ride that wave of momentum.

Instead, his alliance with The Miz has seemingly run its course and now Wilson is in a tough position when it comes to moving forward in WWE.

Wilson had great things expected of him as a singles star, but that has all fizzled out now, and it seems that the former champion could be forced to start anew on the blue brand.

It will be interesting to see where he now fits in, since SmackDown has moved back to two hours; it has been much harder for him to find his place and much harder for most stars to get any time on the show.

There has also been no real update on Elton Prince, so there could even be a plan to put Wilson back into a tag team like with The Miz since it’s clear that WWE prefer him to be part of a team rather than solo.

Kit Wilson is someone who’s popular with the WWE Universe, so it would make sense for create to find a way to bring him back to TV with this new look whether that’s alone or as a singles star.
