A popular AEW star is set to compete in a major match outside of AEW. He has been absent from the promotion for a long time, but now he is set to compete in a company, not All Elite Wrestling, which raises a big question mark on his time with the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Danhausen has been absent from All Elite Wrestling since Worlds End 2023. It has been more than two years since his last TV appearance. Many believe that the 35-year-old star requested his release long ago, but Tony Khan wants him to serve out the injury time of his contract, which will expire in February. However, despite his absence from AEW, Dan has continued to compete in the independent circuit.
In an Instagram post, Absolute Intense Wrestling announced that Danhausen will face Eric Taylor in a singles match on Alive Out of a Bit event in Ohio. The show will take place on January 23 at the Globe Iron in Cleveland. The All Elite Wrestling star is set to be one of the main attractions of the show.

AEW’s Danhausen recently dropped a massive CM Punk reference
Danhausen and CM Punk are good friends in real life. They often share each other’s pictures on their social media from their get-together. But recently, Dan used Punk’s picture to wish a happy New Year to his fans in a pretty hilarious manner.
The All Elite Wrestling star used The Best in the World’s World Heavyweight Champion render in an X post. He simply added a text wishing his fans a delightful new year. This picture showcased Danhausen’s minimal effort sense of humor that made rounds all over the internet.
The 35-year-old star has been friends with CM Punk and Bayley for a long time. It adds fuel to the possibility of him joining WWE once his AEW contract expires. But with that said, only time will tell what is in store for Danhausen in professional wrestling in the year 2026.
