Adam Copeland has been on an incredible run in AEW as of late. He made his return to the company in March at Revolution pay-per-view. He is now chasing the AEW World Tag Team Championships and FTR alongside a 2-time WWE Champion.
The Rated-R Superstar is currently involved in a tag team with former two-time World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage. They have named their tag team ‘Cage and Cope’ as of late for their quest to become new tag team champions in All Elite Wrestling. Copeland recently talked about his relationship with The Patriarch and their run as a tag team in professional wrestling after all these years.
Speaking on The Sportsocracy, Adam Copeland said that his relationship with Christian Cage is similar to Statler and Waldorf of The Muppets. He added that they have now turned into grumpy veterans who are having the time of their lives in professional wrestling.
“It was really fun. that we turned that into a storyline point. Like, would refuse to team with me unless we did that. Which is just fun. We’re getting to be Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets. It really is so, so true to our actual relationship. Which is why it’s working. Because I think you watch and go, look at those two idiots. That’s how they interact in the airport, or you’re just sitting around watching a hockey game.” said Copeland. [H/T: Fightful]

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage set to battle FTR in a high-stakes showdown at Double or Nothing
Double or Nothing is set to be the next big pay-per-view for All Elite Wrestling this year. The show will take place at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, and fans have high expectations for it. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will also square off with FTR in a Tag team “I Quit” match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
Well, the match will not be that simple as it has a much more important condition on the line. If Cage and Cope fail to win the showdown, they will have to retire as a tag team in professional wrestling. Things have become much more personal between FTR and Cage & Cope, and this next match will act as the final chapter of their feud.
Fans expect Adam Copeland and Christian Cage to become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions at Double or Nothing to have one last title run in professional wrestling. It will be interesting to see how things will unfold in this ‘I-Quit’ match later this month in New York.
