AEW has been around for more than seven years. Over the years, the company has seen many ups and downs, especially because it is going against its competition, WWE, which has dominated the business for several decades. During these seven years, some things have been well received by fans, while others haven’t. Tony Khan has always discarded things that he didn’t feel were right.
Earlier, All Elite Wrestling used to air some of the AEW matches on YouTube on a show called Dark. However, after just a couple of years, the Jacksonville-based promotion stopped the show in 2023 as fans showed no interest in the event. However, Tony Khan may be trying something different: he is trying to resurrect the show under a different name.
For the past few weeks, ROH has started putting a show on YouTube called ROH TV Special Tuesday. The show features top stars of ROH wrestling in blockbuster matches for an hour. Recently, Fightful.com reported that ROH TV Special Tuesday is a rebranding of the AEW Dark show.
“In case people haven’t picked this up, ROH Tuesday specials are basically AEW Dark rebranded,” the report said. [H/T – Ringside News]
AEW star and ROH champion Deonna Purrazzo talks about the ROH women’s division
Tony Khan is usually criticized for poorly booking All Elite Wrestling’s women on TV. Oftentimes, he books just one match on Dynamite and Collision every week. However, that same aspect doesn’t get repeated on ROH, as it features plenty of female stars every week. This was also pointed out by the current ROH Women’s Pure Champion.
While speaking on Fox News, Deonna Purrazzo claimed that ROH has four to five women’s matches every week and doesn’t get credited enough for the efforts the company puts in.
“I think that there is really great women’s wrestling within Ring of Honor. Most weeks there’s four, five, six women’s matches and so I think that it doesn’t get enough credit online that it deserves for what it’s doing and the purpose it’s serving for women’s wrestling, which is, again, really important to me, starting in Ring of Honor, starting the women’s division 11 years ago,” she said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for Deonna Purrazzo.
