AHL’s Calgary Wranglers Sport Kid-Designed Jerseys for Good Friday Afternoon Game – SportsLogos.Net News

The kids are alright, and the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League have the jerseys to prove it.

The Wranglers took advantage of the Good Friday holiday to host their Kids’ Fri-YAY! afternoon game on Friday, April 18, against the San Jose Barracuda. The game included a T-shirt giveaway, face painting, balloon animals, and — most importantly, at least to us here at SportsLogos.net — special kid-designed jerseys worn by the Wranglers.

The jerseys were designed by local 12-year-old Clark Tingle and they feature his drawing of a Wranglers’ player riding a bucking bronco and swinging a lasso on the front.

The jerseys also had yellow collars with white trim and yellow and white brush stroke stripes around the waist and sleeves. The Wranglers’ primary logo sat on the right shoulder, while the Kids’ Fri-YAY! logo appeared on the left shoulder.

Numbers on the sleeves and back were set in a white sans serif font, while the names on the back of the jerseys were yellow. The Wranglers wore their regular red helmets, gloves, pants and socks with the jersey.

Game-worn and game-issued jerseys are being auctioned off to benefit Clark’s charity of choice, Youth Central. This organization encourages Calgary youth to volunteer in their communities to build confidence, social connections, and essential life and leadership skills. Bids close at 8 p.m. MT on Tuesday, April 22.
