“All an act”: NFL followers mock Arch Manning’s “manufactured excitement” for Texas vs. Ohio State Week 2 sport

Arch Manning was more animated than usual on Saturday, and fans could not help but derisively laugh at it.

Ahead of a Week 2 game against Ohio State, the Texas quarterback was spotted doing the double-arm “Let’s go!” gesture as he walked into Texas Memorial Stadium:

A good number of fans, however, were not impressed, instead offering ridicule:

During ESPN’s “College GameDay”, Pat McAfee revealed he was the one extolling Manning’s potential over the previous season. Head coach Steve Sarkisian then responded:

“I think what happened, you, Paul Finebaum, you weren’t the only one.”

He continued:

“I think what was important about that: None of that was Arch saying those things. All he did was try to work really hard and be the best player and teammate he could be.

“Honestly, I think the adversity he got faced with last year was the best thing for him, his career, for his future and his own mental health. He had never had real adversity before. So to get faced with it, then get on the other side of it and play the way he played the second half of the season, I think that speaks volumes of the human being.”

Arch Manning predicted to become AFC North franchise’s newest quarterback in 2027 NFL draft

It is barely two weeks into the college football season, and discussion on where Arch Manning will play in 2027 has already intensified.

In a mock draft that was published on Wednesday morning, Athlon Sports’ Luke Easterling predicted the son of Cooper and nephew of Peyton and Eli going to the Cleveland Browns, who are expected to end their much-maligned Deshaun Watson era at the end of the 2026 season:

“With Watson at the helm this year, Cleveland should be in pole position for the No. 1 overall pick all season long, giving them the opportunity to land the top passer in the class. As long as Manning keeps up his current trajectory of development, he’ll land here and be charged with bringing the franchise back to relevance.”

The 2027 NFL draft will be held from April 29 to May 1 at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
