HoYoverse recently revealed in the Genshin Impact Luna III Special Program that this upcoming update will add a permanent system called the Witch’s Homework. Alice is going to give us the players as the Traveler a special dictionary filled with tasks that tie into the history of the Hexenzirkel.
Completing these tasks will unlock a new passive known as the Hexerei Rite for a small group of Mondstadt characters affliated with the Hexenzirkel. This passive is going to boost their existing kit as well their damage outputs by meeting certain conditions. Since these buffs are permanent, they will also take effect in the character’s Constellations. Here’s an overview of these characters and how the effect takes place.
Genshin Impact characters who will receive the Hexerei effect

The Hexerei Rite is going to be a new passive specially for players who enjoy early game Mondstadt units or has been waiting for more lore tied to Alice, Hexenzirkel or even Venti’s hidden powers. This will buff character’s pre-existing kits as well as increasing their damage based on the condition that there are atleast 2 Hexerei characters in the team.
After finishing the Witch’s Homework tasks given by Alice, All these eight characters will receive the Hexerei label in Genshin Impact:
- Klee
- Albedo
- Durin
- Razor
- Fischl
- Venti
- Mona
- Sucrose
Some of these buffs range from boosting each of the character’s raw damage while others smooth out damage uptime or give optimizations that make their rotations feel smoother. According to HoYoverse, these buffs will remain active permanently throughout the game once they are unlocked. Since Durin also appears as a playable character in Luna III, this system is going to tie the Mondstadt cast together in a new way that feels both functional and fun.
The upciming Hexerei Rite passive is going to be a welcome surprise for Mondstadt mains in the upcoming Genshin Impact’s version Luna III. It will give these eight familiar characters an upgrade that lasts forever once players complete the Witch’s Homework tasks. Anyone who wants to try these improvements can tune in when version Luna III goes live.
