Pokemon Champions has had a choppy launch with a plethora of errors that several players have reported. These range from simple visual glitches that a quick restart will fix, to much more serious ones where you can even potentially lose your Pokemon permanently.
Unfortunately, not all bugs and errors in Pokemon Champions can be fixed. The Pokemon Company has already issued official fixes for some of the more critical errors, but many still remain unsolved that the developers are working to fix.
In this article, we will list all the known Pokemon Champions errors and bugs, and also mention ways to fix them, if any.
All Pokemon Champions errors and bugs that have fixes
Some errors and bugs in Pokemon Champions can be resolved easily. These either require a quick tweak from your end, or TPC has already patched them. Here is a list of all such errors and bugs:
1) Pokemon Champions screen resolution halved
Pokemon Champions can sometimes halve the resolution on Nintendo Switch 2 if you turn the game on while the console is in docked mode. Although the exact cause of this is not known, it is purely a visual bug that has no effect on the gameplay.
To fix the Pokemon Champions resolution halved error on the Nintendo Switch 2, simply remove the Switch 2 from the dock and then put it back in docked mode. You do not necessarily need to restart the game in this case. In light of this issue, it is best to put your console in docked mode only after you turn on Pokemon Champions to avoid it completely.
2) Pokemon HOME error code 9007: Cannot transfer to Pokemon Champions (permanently losing Pokemon)
The Pokemon Company has since solved the issue, and no new users should face it. In the odd case that you do face the Pokemon HOME error code 9007 and cannot transfer to Pokemon Champions, you must uninstall Pokemon HOME, clear your cache, and then redownload HOME all over again, and the issue should be automatically solved.
Initially reported by user u/DragonianSun on the VGC subreddit, Pokemon Champions has a serious transferring problem with Pokemon HOME connectivity. Essentially, you would get error code 9007 while transferring any Pokemon from HOME to Champions.
However, this also caused connectivity issues in other games, as the user also got an error 71104 in Pokemon HOME while trying to transfer the same critter to Pokemon Scarlet. In simpler words, the Pokemon would be in a state where it exists in HOME but cannot be transferred anywhere, almost as if you lost it permanently.
Upon raising a support ticket, the Pokemon support team contacted the user and asked to collect data. In the meantime, reports of other players facing the same issue started popping in as well, and the developers managed to deploy a fix to this sometime afterwards.

Pokemon Champions errors that do not have any fixes so far
Some errors in Pokemon Champions have no fixes currently, and they are:
1) Pokemon Champions stuck at “Matchmaking in Progress”
In rare cases, you might face the Pokemon Champions stuck at “Matchmaking in Progress” error. The error is rather frustrating as it acts like a softlock that prevents you from partaking in any battle altogether. It can also happen during the mandatory battle that you must complete after the tutorial. This would mean your progression takes a hit, and you will not be able to proceed and play the game at all.
Currently, there seems to be no fix to the Pokemon Champions stuck at “Matchmaking in Progress” error. In case you face this, the best course of action is to raise a support ticket and wait for a response from the official team.
2) Pokemon Champions Pokemon self healing error
Another rare occurence in Pokemon Champions is an error where the opponent Pokemon heals itself, almost fully, out of nowhere. A video shared by CentroLeaks on X shows a Milotic using the move Haze, and then restoring all the health it lost in the last turn.
Haze is typically a move that eliminates “stat changes”, as in buffs and debuffs to its stats like Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, or Speed. However, this bug seems to consider the loss of HP as a stat change as well, and reverts that too. There is no fix to this error currently as well.
Once again, the best course of action if you come across the Pokemon Champions error where Pokemon heal themselves is to capture a video on your Switch. Raise a support ticket, and await official response.

Other known Pokemon Champions bugs and errors that are being worked on
The official Pokemon Champions Japan page on X has listed some other errors that are currently acknowledged and are being worked on:
- Pokemon Champions Leech Seed move error: Leech Seed is a move that typically takes away 1/8th of the “seeded” Pokemon’s maximum HP and gives it to the user per turn. Currently, Pokemon Champions has an error with Leech Seed where the 1/16th of the HP is taken instead.
- Pokemon Champions Mega Evolution order error: In some cases, the order in which Mega Evolutions take place is incorrect.
- Pokemon Champions Gender notation error: During the tutorial and some of the Replica Teams, the gender notation of several Pokemon are incorrect.
- Pokemon Champions Lightning Rod error: The held item “Lightning Rod” does not function as intended when the Pokemon holding it is in an Encore state.
- Pokemon Champions Mega Evolution cannot select moves error: In some cases during battle, if hovering over “Mega Evolution” and pressing B makes you unable to select a move, just open and close the surrender window with the “-” button. This resets the selection so you can choose your move again.
Permanent fixes for all of the Pokemon Champions errors mentioned above are being worked on by TPC.
