Andy Signore says Joe Rogan must be ashamed for not calling out Josh Hokit after his controversial Michelle Obama comment

Media personality Andy Signore recently criticized Joe Rogan for not calling out UFC fighter Josh Hokit after he called former First Lady Michelle Obama a man during a post-match interview on June 14, 2026. The controversial moment occurred when Rogan interviewed Josh Hokit after he defeated fellow heavyweight Derrick Lewis at the UFC Freedom 250 event, where Hokit unpromptedly said, “Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?”

Joe Rogan did not address the comment and instead said, “Ladies and gentlemen, Josh Hokit.” Hokit’s comment took many by surprise and received swift backlash online, with Fox News Digital Columnist David Marcus calling it “utterly unacceptable,” and urging the administration to “denounced (sic) it in no uncertain terms” in an X post.

Andy Signore, creator of the popular digital series Honest Trailers, quote-tweeted Marcus’ post and slammed Joe Rogan for not calling out the UFC fighter at the moment, writing:

“1000% This. To disrespect an Ex-President’s wife like that, in a celebration of America on the White House Lawn! Anyone who thinks that kind of behavior represents the best of America, YOU are the problem. And @joerogan shame on you for not calling it out directly in the moment.”

Andy Signore was not the only person to criticize Joe Rogan for not acting in the moment and calling out Josh Hokit. Jemele Hill, a sports writer and a YouTuber, condemned Rogan for not acknowledging the remark and seemingly “glazing” Donald Trump like other broadcasters during the June 15 episode of her Spolitics YouTube stream, saying:

“Joe Rogan stood there and said absolutely nothing. At the very least, what you should have said is, ‘We don’t do that here,’ and you can move on. The broadcasters, they acted like nothing happened. They just went back to glazing Donald Trump like they had been doing pretty much the whole broadcast.”

UFC CEO criticized Josh Hokit’s Michelle Obama remark

Dana White, the CEO and president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), called Josh Hokit‘s comments about Michelle Obama “nasty and false,” saying he hated “that kind of nonsense” in a test message to TIME Magazine.

“I understand that the Obama’s are public figures but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families. Everyone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense,” he said.

President Donald Trump, who had attended the fight that night, has yet to address the issue as of this article. However, according to TMZ, he removed a chain that Hokit gave him after he won the match against Derrick Lewis on the White House Front Lawn.

After his victory, Hokit was seen placing his chain around Trump‘s neck and shaking hands with the president. The UFC fighter also gave a shoutout to the president while speaking to Joe Rogan just minutes before the controversy unfolded, saying:

“Shout-out to Trump for having the b*lls to put some s**t like this on.”

After his controversial remark about Michelle Obama, CNN reported that Trump “appeared to show a half-smile seconds” before he was seen removing the chain shortly after the comment. Neither the White House nor Josh Hokit has addressed the remark or the subsequent backlash as of this article. The Obamas have not responded to the incident as well.
