The Los Angeles Angels returned left-hander Reid Detmers to their expanded roster Sunday, while infielder Charles Leblanc also was recalled.

Major league rosters can expand by two players for the remainder of the regular season, starting Sunday.

Detmers, 25, was sent down to Triple-A Salt Lake in June after opening the season 3-6 with a 6.14 ERA in 12 starts. The former first-round draft pick threw a no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays in May of 2022 during his 11th career start.

After a slow start at Salt Lake following his demotion, Detmers allowed just three earned runs with 29 strikeouts over his most recent three outings.

The Angels are expected to proceed with a six-man rotation, according to manager Ron Washinton, with Detmers likely to pitch Tuesday in a home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In four major league seasons, Detmers is 15-25 with a 4.68 ERA in 70 starts.

The Angels had left-hander Sam Aldegheri start in his major league debut Friday, while top pitching prospect RHP Caden Dana was set to start in his major league debut Sunday.

Leblanc, 28, was 1-for-6 in two games with the Angels earlier this season and is a career .259 hitter with four home runs and 11 RBIs, including 48 games for the Miami Marlins in 2022.
