Arizona State Sun Devils Unveil New Core Football Uniforms, Tease Alternates – SportsLogos.Net News

The Arizona State Sun Devils recently unveiled their new core football uniforms and teased two unreleased alternate designs that could be worn this season.

Both the maroon home and white road jerseys, which are on adidas’ “Strategy” template, prominently display an “Arizona State” wordmark across the chest for the first time since 2017.

The matching “Sun Devil Bold” numbers have been moved from the sleeves to the shoulders, paving the way for a sun ray design, which was pulled from the Arizona state flag.

This design was sublimated around the collar from 2018-22 and then featured on a sublimated side panel the last two seasons but is now stitched on the sleeves in the same color as the jersey.

There’s also a “PT*42” shield at the base of the collar that honors late linebacker and Army Ranger Pat Tillman, as well as “O2V” (Onward To Victory) inside the back collar as a nod to the school fight song.

The gold, maroon and white pants, meanwhile, have scrapped the oversized pitchfork logo in favor of a standard size, with the logo now on the right hip instead of down the right thigh.

While the uniforms were shown with a gold “Sparky” helmet or white pitchfork helmet, the Sun Devils will still mix and match their decals and facemasks on their gold, maroon and white lids.

As for the two unreleased alternates that Arizona State could wear this season, a retail leaks shows one will be a gold jersey that follows the same template, with a maroon wordmark and numbers.

The other is likely black, as the Sun Devils wore black alternates from 2011-19 and 2021-23, though we would be remiss if we didn’t point out this is also the 50th anniversary of their 1975 team and they could wear a throwback uniform instead.

Arizona State finished that season at 12-0 and No. 2 in the major polls, the highest final ranking in school history. The group will be enshrined into the ASU Hall of Fame during the Sun Devils’ game against Texas Tech on Oct. 18.

Arizona State is also encouraging fans to wear black for its Friday night matchup with TCU on Sept. 26, so it shouldn’t be too long before we find out what the Sun Devils have up their sleeves.
