Asian Football Confederation Rings in 2025 With New Logo – Sports activitiesLogos.Net News

The Asian Football Confederation — which oversees club and international competitions on the world’ most populous continent — is ringing in the new year with a new logo.

The AFC unveiled its new brand identity on December 31, 2024, calling it “the start of a brand new era today with the unveiling of a new logo and identity to reflect and reinforce the continued trajectory of the Confederation’s progress and rising standards in the coming years.”

The new logo consists of white ribbon-like letters spelling out AFC on a navy blue background. A curl in the A shows a small amount of gold. The logo is meant to embody the idea of “Connecting Asia Through the Power of Football,” according to the federation’s announcement.

“The logo’s distinctive mark represents a dynamic thread or ribbon, tracing the fluid movements of players on the pitch, which seamlessly folds to form the letters ‘AFC,’ creating a visually striking and meticulously crafted logomark that reflects the essence of the Confederation’s identity,” the announcement says.

“Brought to life through a vibrant combination of solid colours and gradient treatments, and complemented by a refreshed colour palette, the logo exudes strength, confidence and modernity. It delivers a premium aesthetic that resonates with the gravitas and recognition the AFC deserves, not just across Asia, but on the global stage.”

This is first time the AFC has updated its logo since 2001. From its founding in 1954 until 2001, the AFC used what it calls its “shield logo,” which was green and yellow with “AFC” in a blackletter font.

Our Vision for the future remains resolute: we want to be a model Confederation in the world of football, we want to ensure our Asian teams succeed on the world stage, and to confirm football as Asia’s number one sport, and this new logo represents our bold ambitions to take the Asian game to unparalleled levels of excellence and success.

The AFC is based Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and it is the governing body of 47 football associations throughout Asia, including the Middle East. The confederation will receive eight direct berths into the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and could earn a ninth through a six-team inter-confederation playoff. Australia joined the AFC in 2006 so that the country’s national teams would face better competition on the international stage and its club teams could participate in the AFC Champions League.
