There were reportedly speculations that Barcelona would be willing to cash in on Olmo as they plan a clearout in January. It has been claimed that he has been offered to Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea.
Despite interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, Olmo reportedly does not have any plans to leave Camp Nou. Hansi Flick views him as a key part of his plans and the former RB Leipzig star is also happy at the Catalan club.
Olmo has been a crucial figure for Barcelona since his switch to the club in 2024 from RB Leipzig. He has made 96 appearances for the Blaugrana till date, scoring 20 goals and providing another 20 assists.
The attacking midfielder has provided three assists in eight games across competitions this season for Hansi Flick’s side. He has started just two LaLiga games and one Champions League fixture but is seen as a reliable squad player.
Barcelona face competition from Chelsea for Serie A star: Reports
Barcelona could reportedly face strong competition for the signature of Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan. The Italy international is also believed to be wanted by the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.
Barcelona are long-term admirers of the 27-year-old and wanted him earlier this year. However, they could not reach an agreement with Inter Milan, who valued their star defender at around €100 million.
The Catalan giants, however, remain keen on the defender but could face competition from the Premier League. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all believed to have their eyes on the world-class Italian defender.
Chelsea could do with a defender of Bastoni’s caliber who has plenty of experience of playing in a back three. Xabi Alonso has so far played three at the back at Stamford Bridge and Bastoni could be a strong addition to his backline.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have reportedly set their sights on Bastoni as the long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk. The Reds skipper turns 36 next year and his contract also expires next summer.
