Boeing 737 engine cowl on a Southwest Airways aircraft rips off

A Southwest Airlines jet returned to Denver Sunday morning after the engine cowl fell off and struck the wing flap throughout takeoff, in line with the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Boeing 737 landed safely, and the passengers headed to Houston had been being put onto one other plane, Southwest Airways mentioned in an announcement.

“We apologize for the inconvenience of their delay, but place our highest priority on ultimate Safety for our Customers and Employees. Our Maintenance teams are reviewing the aircraft,” the assertion reads.

It’s the second mishap this week for the airline, with a flight from Texas canceled Thursday after a report of an engine hearth. The Lubbock, Texas, hearth division confirmed on-line a fireplace in one of many two engines that wanted extinguishing.

The FAA is investigating each incidents.
