A popular ex-WWE Superstar is making their AEW in-ring return tonight on Dynamite, as announced by the promotion right before the show. This will be their first match in a month.
Mercedes Moné achieved her long-time goal of becoming the AEW Women’s World Champion at All In: Wembley 2026 after she dethroned Willow Nightingale. But it did not come without a cost, as she walked away with a broken nose after that night. The CEO has made appearance since, including her championship celebration and her brief confrontations with Thekla.
Mercedes was not cleared for action for All Out this weekend, so the promotion moved to settle who her number one contender was instead. It will be the Toxic Spider facing her at WrestleDream. But she is now set to make her in-ring return tonight on Dynamite. She will team up with Persephone and Britt Baker to take on Marina Shafir, Hyan, and Thunder Rosa.
This will be part of the promotion’s tribute show to PAC.
“A Tribute to @BASTARDPAC 8/7c, TONIGHT! Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite AEW Women’s World Champion @MercedesVarnado, TBS Champion Persephone/@RealBrittBaker vs @MarinaShafir/@_thehyan /@thunderrosa22 It will be an explosive Dynamite trios fight to honor the late legend PAC, TONIGHT!”
AEW star recently talked about a story featuring Mercedes Moné and PAC
The tributes to PAC following his tragic passing last weekend have been continuous, with both fans and wrestlers alike posting their favorite moments with him.
Austin Creed (FKA Xavier Woods) not only spoke about working together with him, but looked back at his appearances on the UpUpDownDown YouTube Channel during their WWE days. He brought up how PAC and Mercedes Moné were a duo during their Rocket League Tag Team tournament, and they ended up becoming the champions.
“He was also a Rocket League tag champion with Mercedes,” wrote Creed.
Tonight will be a celebration of the career of one of the traiblazers of high-flying wrestling, and it is great to see his greatest friends and rivals share the ring in honor of him. Fans should tune in to this great show ahead.
