Virginia Giuffre, 41, a victim of disgraced sex-traffickers Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, has reportedly died by suicide in Neergabby, Australia, where she’d been living for several years. Her family has reported the tragic death, according to NBC News.
“It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia,” her family said in a statement to NBC News. “She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.”
“Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors,” the statement said. “In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight.”
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that on April 1, Giuffre reported she was hit by a school bus and left in serious condition, according to a post on her Instagram account. The sex-trafficking survivor wrote:
This year has been the worst start to a new year, but I won’t bore anyone with the details but I think its important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110KM as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can. I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology.
I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes.
S**T in one hand and wish in the other & I guarantee it’s still going to be s**t at the end of the day. Thank you all for being the wonderful people of the world and for being a great part of my life. Godbless you all.”
The New York Post, however, reported that the crash was “minor” and a mother of one of the children on the school bus reportedly said, “…I don’t know what’s true and waht is not but I do know [the injuries] are not from the bus incident.”
Giuffre was sexually abused by Epstein and Maxwell from 1999 through 2002 after she met the couple in Florida and was lured into their scheme as she attempted to straighten out her life. Giuffre said that she was trafficked to many high-powered friends of Epstein, most notably Prince Andrew and French modeling mogul Jean-Luc Brunel.
Giuffre sued Prince Andrew in 2021, leading to an undisclosed settlement in 2022, while maintaining he never had sex with her.
Brunel was charged with sexual harassment and the rape of a minor in December 2020. Giuffre testified against him in Paris in June 2021. While Brunel denied wrongdoing, he died allegedly by suicide in February 2022 while in pre-trial detention in Paris.
Epstein allegedly committed suicide in highly unusual circumstances while serving a prison sentence at the Metropolitan Correction Center in New York City on August 10, 2019.
Much of Giuffre’s testimony was released back in January 2024 as documents were released from a defamation lawsuit related to Epstein. The release included depositions of Epstein, Maxwell, and Giuffre, among several other documents.
In December 2019, Giuffre posted on social media stating that she was not suicidal:
“I am making it publicly known that in no way, shape or form am I suicidal. I have made this known to my therapist and doctor. If something happens to me – for the sake of my family do not let this go away and help me to protect them. Too many evil people want to see me quieted.
