BREAKING NEWS: Hennepin County District Attorney Mary Moriarty, backed by Soros, is demanding race be thought-about in plea offers and sentence reductions.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty has sparked a firestorm of criticism after implementing a new policy requiring prosecutors to consider the race of defendants when offering plea deals.

This measure, set to take effect on Monday, has been labeled by experts and citizens alike as potentially unconstitutional and a clear example of out-of-control liberal activism.

Moriarty instructed prosecutors to evaluate the defendants’ «racial identity» and age as part of a «holistic» analysis when proposing resolutions.

The policy aims to “address racial disparities” in the judicial system, but it has raised concerns even among prosecutors themselves, who fear this directive may violate laws that prohibit the use of race in sentencing decisions.

University of Minnesota constitutional law professor Jill Hasday and former prosecutor Imran Ali, interviewed by Kare11 News, have questioned the legality of the measure.

Ali pointed out that current sentencing rules explicitly forbid taking race into account in these processes, which could lead to discrimination lawsuits.

One section of the policy states:

«While racial identity and age are not appropriate grounds for departing [from the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines], proposed resolutions must consider the accused person as a whole person, including their racial identity and age. While these factors should not be determinative, they must be part of the overall analysis. Racial disparities harm our community, generate mistrust, and have a negative impact on community safety. Prosecutors must identify and address racial disparities at decision points, as appropriate.»

The controversy is nothing new for Moriarty, who has been accused of being «soft on crime» on multiple occasions. Recently, she refused to press charges against a man who vandalized Teslas worth $20,000, sparking criticism from local police and victims.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressed his frustration, stating that Moriarty’s decisions demotivate investigators.

This is not the first time Moriarty has faced accusations of ideological bias. In 2023, she offered a controversial plea deal to two juveniles charged with second-degree murder, which led to protests from the victims’ families and prompted Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison to step in.

Finally, the controversy surrounding Mary Moriarty intensifies due to her alleged financial backing from George Soros, known for funding progressive prosecutors who push «soft on crime» policies.

According to a report by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF), Moriarty received approximately $511,230 from organizations linked to Soros’s Open Society Foundations network during her 2022 campaign for Hennepin County Attorney.

Groups such as TakeAction Minnesota and Faith in Minnesota, which spent $26,000 and $29,000 respectively on her campaign, have been associated with funding from the Tides Foundation, a Soros beneficiary.

These connections fuel criticism that Moriarty operates under a leftist agenda that prioritizes criminals over victims—a pattern detractors see reflected in her judicial decisions.

The lingering question remains: Is Mary Moriarty, with her leftist and progressive agenda, truly pursuing justice—or simply protecting criminals while promoting blatant institutional discrimination?

As Hennepin County burns in the midst of this controversy, the decisions of this left-wing prosecutor, who seems to prioritize criminals over victims, threaten to unleash legal and social chaos that could shake the entire nation.
