While the club’s Irish heritage is apparent in their name, crest and colours, Glasgow-based Celtic FC are paying home to their roots in Scotland with their 2025-26 home kits, made by Adidas.
The 55-time Scottish Premiership champions—who have already wrapped up the 2024-25 league title—unveiled the kits on their website and social media channels on Friday, May 2. While it retains their famous green-and-white hoops, the green stripes contain a tonal tartan pattern. “This subtle, yet impactful design element pays homage to the club’s dual heritage and adds a unique dimension to a classic look,” the club’s website reads.
Celtic FC was founded in 1887 by Irish-Scots in Glasgow’s East End. The club played its first-ever match in 1888, defeating Rangers 5-2 in the first installment of what would become one of the world’s fiercest football rivalries.
The Adidas shoulder stripes are black, running over the hoops on the sleeves. The collar has black trim with a green stripe through the middle on the sides, while the same striping pattern appears on the sleeve cuffs.
The shirt is paired with solid white shorts that have green piping curving down the stripes and black Adidas stripes underneath. Celtic’s online shop also offers green change shorts for the home kit, with the tonal tartan pattern all over and white piping and stripes.

The socks that go with the kit are solid white with green triangles at the heels. Black Adidas stripes run around the cuffs, and a black Adidas logo appears under a green Celtic wordmark on the shins.
The new home kit will make its debut when the Celtic men’s team wears it during preseason games ahead of the 2025-26 season.
