Chad Gable Shares Personal Family Update Ahead of the Biggest Match of His WWE Career

WWE Superstar Chad Gable enters arguably his biggest match at the upcoming SummerSlam Premium Live Event. Ahead of the two-night PLE in Minnesota, the 40-year-old shared a family update with his fans.

At SummerSlam 2026, Chad Gable faces off against Penta, who has held the WWE Intercontinental Championship for 144 days since he defeated Dominik Mysterio. Meanwhile, Gable is on an incredible redemption arc where he’s gone from disrespecting luchadores by adopting their mask to being a good guy who now understands and respects Lucha tradition.

Interestingly, to get to the gold he has to go past another luchador in Cero Miedo. Gable has come close before, but he’s never held a singles title in WWE, making the clash at SummerSlam arguably the biggest match in his career so far. Curiously, he has been with the promotion for nearly 13 years now and has held tag team gold on three occasions.

Before his huge match at The Biggest Party of the Summer, Chad Gable took some time off with his family to visit the Minnesota United FC stadium and watch the team play the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the MLS. He posted several photographs on X/Twitter where he posed alongside his family, the team captains, and even the local team’s mascot with the following caption:

“Really grateful for nights like this with the family at @mnufc [Minnesota United FC] making memories before one of the biggest weeks of my life! Back to work tomorrow night on RAW. Then SummerSlam next weekend. I am more locked in than I have ever been. Eye is on the prize… and this time – for all the right reasons.”

Gable seems locked in to complete his redemption arc and finally lift the coveted WWE Intercontinental Championship, as he says “for all the right reasons.”

Chad Gable has a heartfelt apology for his father

Chad Gable has been on a redemption arc in WWE. Curiously, he also came full circle with his own father recently.

The 40-year-old took to Instagram recently and publicly and formally apologized to his father for ridiculing the latter about wearing Canadian tuxedos for fancy night outs. He admitted that he and his son both donned the attire for a concert recently, and he was proved wrong. He revealed he felt comfortable and cool. He also urged kids to listen to their parents.

“I want to publicly and formally apologize to my Dad. For years I poked fun at you. For years I laughed. Every time you put on a Canadian tuxedo for a fancy night out, I ridiculed the decision. I was wrong. Tonight, I put one on with my son CJ for the @hiforrest concert, and I don’t believe I’ve ever felt so simultaneously comfortable and cool. I get it now. You were right all along. Kids, listen to your parents. Their wisdom may not make sense today, tomorrow, or next year… but someday you’ll understand what they meant,” Gable wrote.

Whether Chad Gable is finally able to lift the title he’s been very close to winning in the past remains to be seen. For now, rest assured Gable vs Penta will be a blockbuster affair at SummerSlam 2026.
